My name is Shaun and I live in South Africa. I own and manage an afterschool care centre called “The Lighthouse” We care for 5 – 12 year old's in the afternoons. Much of what I do on a daily basis is communication. Whether it be with the children doing homework or activities, instructing and managing my 6 supervisors, liaising with school management or speaking with parents. My teaching style is one where I take great interest in meeting and learning about people. Being a native English speaker, I would be able to assist in correct pronunciation and grammar skills. I would take note of errors that occur throughout the conversation, and address these at the end of the lesson. I would then assign some basic homework if necessary to practice any problem areas that might need extra attention.
I definitely am a “jack of all trades”. The following life experiences have equipped me over the years to become excellent in conversational skills. I have supplied excellent customer service in the banking industry. I acquired new business for a construction company. I was a salesman working for several companies. I was also hired as an estate agent at two agencies. I would be a perfect candidate for tutoring English conversational classes because of my work experience. I also have an inbuilt sense of curiosity. I love to meet new people and find out about their lives. I have built strong relationships with the children I care for at the centre. This is because I take an interest In them as part of caring for them on a daily basis.
