Hello, My name is Mathieu, 28 years old, French. I just came back from 11 months travelling with my girlfriend in Asia and South America and two years in total. Regarding my career, I graduated from a business school in France in Marketing and also hold a Bachelor of Arts in International Business. Then, I have worked for Renault's electric vehicle in the Marketing department for three years before travelling since July 2016. I love traveling and practicing sports such as triathlon and running. I am a committed, enthusiastic and professional teacher. I go all the way with the student to provide him/her the best conditions to improve his/her language skills.
Regarding my tutoring experiences, while studying, I taught English, Spanish and Mathematics to students through an agency called Acadomia in France and I was also part of an association to teach to kids in a socially challenged school. While travelling, I taught from time to time English to students. I did it for a week in Peru, in Malaysia for two weeks for Burmese refugees. There, I was also teaching History and Geography to the students around 13-15 years old. Now, I am teaching online French and English to some students of any age and any level. I am a polyvalent teacher. When I teach, I make sure the student understood well the lesson of the day before moving to another topic. I prefer going slowly but safely rather than going through the topics without being sure fully understood the lesson. I like teaching because I like sharing the knowledge I have been taught during all my childhood. I like to adapt my teaching according to the audience because as a teacher, you need to be flexible and be able to modify your methods to make sure your message is clearly understood by the student. I love travelling and speaking several languages opens up new perspectives you may not have thought of before. It opens up the world to you. When I teach languages, I emphasize my teaching in the speaking skills because being able to speak, express oneself is the most important. I want the student to feel confident when they speak without having any apprehension or even fear to talk to the others. Then, if I see that a grammar point is not clear, I make a focus on it, make sure the student understood before carrying on. In between the lessons, I remain fully available to accompany to the student in his/her homework if needed, sharing articles i saw online or reply to the concerns of the student. I also send proper minutes after a lesson to give all the necessary tools for the student to have all the info he/she needs to move forward. When I teach, I make sure the student understood well the lesson of the day before moving to another topic. I prefer going slowly but safely rather than going through the topics without being sure fully understood the lesson.
